The Faculty of Information Technology and Communication Sciences invites applications for fixed-term doctoral researcher positions in the field of communication sciences. The fixed-term doctoral researcher positions are intended primarily for completing postgraduate studies and bringing the dissertation work to the preliminary review stage during 2024, secondarily for promoting the unfinished dissertation work.Positions can be applied for by doctoral researchers of the Doctoral Program in Media and Communication Sciences and Performing Arts (DPMCP), as well as doctoral researchers belonging to the DPII or DPHAT doctoral programs whose main subject is information research.JOB DESCRIPTIONWe are looking for doctoral researchers who are motivated to complete their dissertation research for fixed-term employment in the Communication Sciences Unit. You cannot apply for a position primarily intended to completion of your work if you have already received one before.The positions of doctoral researchers will be filled temporarily for the year 2024. The duration of the contract (3-6 months) is determined by the stage of the work and the estimated completion date. The application has to include a detailed plan for finishing the work, which has been drawn up with the work supervisors, including schedules, as well as the supervisors' statements and commitments to the supervision.REQUIREMENTSAn eligible applicant must have the right to study in the DPMCP doctoral program, or in case of doctoral students in Information Studies, the right to study in the DPII or DPHAT doctoral programs.When processing applications, we evaluate the following factors:• realism, detail and concreteness of the finishing plan• feasibility of the plan within schedules• supervisors' statements about the stage of the work and commitment to completing the work• transcript of records and information about the completion plan for other studies included in the doctoral degree• previously received fundingThe application period for fixed-term dissertation researcher positions is 8 April - 8 May 2024, the application ends on 8 May 2023 at 23:59.HOW TO APPLY Submit your application for the doctoral researcher’s position through our online recruitment system (link below).
